Stephen and his team deliver a fantastic training package, they are flexible, enthusiastic and supremely professional. Planet Scuba staff are very friendly and are always willing to offer helpful and sound advice. So far we have 38 new Open Water Divers, 24 Advanced Open Water Divers as well as numerous log book dives.
2009 - 2014
In September 2003 we embarked on a project with 15 students and four members of staff. It was important to us that two of the adults taking part in the project would learn alongside the students. The other two staff involved were both experienced divers and could therefore provide both emotional and technical support. The success of the project and the accomplishments of the students have been outstanding at the School, we feel that the Scuba Diving experience and planet Scuba has provided the perfect experience for the students to exceed all expectations.
2003 - 2010
Scouts PADI Try Dive
Scouts 2008 - 2012
Planet Scuba have offered the discover scuba diving for many years to the scouts. This was a great opportunity for the Scouts to try something completely different and they all had a fantastic time. The instructors from Planet Scuba were brilliant and made everyone feel confident underwater. I would highly recommend this activity to any group who is looking for an exciting challenge”. All the Scouts gained their PADI Discover Scuba Diver certificate as well as qualifying for their Scout watersports badge.
Planet Scuba came to the rescue! In the interest of social development and emotional wellbeing, Falconer School has introduced a new and exciting addition to the curriculum – scuba diving. Diving takes learners to new depths, engages pupils ‘multiple intelligences’, improves team work and self-esteem and builds a new awareness of the world around them in a way never before experienced. In 2008 Falconer School took on this challenge with the help of Mr Stephen Manton, Owner of Planet Scuba. Mr Manton was kind enough to work with us on our first Discover Scuba session in the pool and provided all the equipment and expert Instruction as a taster session.
We are grateful to Planet Scuba for their kindness and support.
2009
Chigwell School
For the majority of the students on the trip it was their first time scuba diving so we were full of excitement and nerves! but thanks to Planet Scuba we were learning the practical and theory sides of diving, We had to take a number of written tests to ensure we knew the theory and then one final exam which consisted of 50 questions! with pool work held in our on site pool. As for the people that have dived before it was already second nature. The Open Water course consisted of 2 days with a qualified diving instructor Stephen Manton from Planet Scuba. On the practical side of things we had many dives which were to focus on skills for example, removing and replacing our mask underwater and running out of air drills.

Mr John Kirton
I must take this opportunity to give my sincere thanks to planet Scuba for all their help, without this our adventure would never have taken place. Over the years, they have proved themselves a very professional team who have dedicated themselves to teaching the students and giving them the best entry in to the sport of diving any student could ever ask.

WHY INTRODUCE SCUBA DIVING TO YOUR SCHOOL?

Planet scuba has conducted many scuba programs with schools in the local area. We have found it to be an excellent way of engaging students into school life. It's an exciting activity which will introduce your students to a simply breathtaking world and provide a license for adventure and discovery! Scuba diving also has a really valuable place in a schools educational system. It facilitates students to socialise and develop friendships, as well as teaching students a responsibility for themselves and for others. The capacity to understand ones self, to appreciate one’s feelings, fears and motivations and to be able to use such information to regulate our lives is
paramount for any individual. Through Scuba Diving, a person is constantly required to reflect on what is going on for them both physically and emotionally.
We at Planet Scuba feel that this process enables students to transfer this process to other areas of their lives.

What can we do for your school?

A Discover Scuba session is PADI's entry level course. It is essentially a 'try dive' to give the students an opportunity to have a go! They are low cost and only take about 1 – 2 hours. Students are introduced to some of the basic theory of scuba and safety concepts before getting in the water and Scuba diving! These sessions are designed to be very relaxed and fun and an ideal introduction to scuba diving. They also provide a good foundation for students wishing to progress to a full scuba certification.

This course is the first step to becoming a fully qualified scuba diver. The course is split between theory and practical sessions. During the course students complete 5 knowledge development sections covering the theory of scuba diving and 5 practical sessions in a swimming pool. All these courses can be tailored to suit the specific needs of each school. This course can be completed over 1 weekend or over several sessions.

Open water dives
The last step! Students complete 4 final open water dives to achieve their scuba certification. These dives can be completed in the UK or as part of a school trip.

Planet scuba has 12 years experience in organising, running & leading trips to a wide variety of UK and overseas diving locations including the Red Sea and Malta. A popular option for school groups is to complete the referral course in the UK and the Open Water dives in the Red Sea or Malta.
